My Summer Car is a life simulation game in which you take on the role of a 19-year-old Finnish man who lives in isolation in a countryside house, surrounded by beautiful forests. With your family away on vacation in Tenerife, the house and garage are all yours to use. The Developed Unity engine, the game features an extensive array of activities and mechanics to discover.
Your main goal is to restore an old car called the Satsuma AMP, inspired by the real-life Datsun 100A. You start with a car frame in the yard and scattered parts in the garage. You need to assemble it piece by piece, attaching everything from the wheels and engine to the doors and driveshaft. The detail work is the most important factor in the entire application, as the fit has to be spot on.
In the nearby village, you can visit a parts store to buy missing or upgraded car parts. To earn money, you can take on small jobs like delivering firewood or brewing Finnish homemade sweet wine for a local drunkard. The side tasks are called neons, and completion is a game in and of itself.
Once your car is fully built, you must pass a technical inspection to drive it legally and join weekly amateur rally races. Winning races earns money to improve your car further. However, the game’s realistic car physics make driving challenging, especially at high speeds. Alongside car repairs, you need to manage your character’s hunger, cleanliness, and sleep, ensuring you balance car upgrades with personal care.
