Get To Work is an in-your-face, anti-corporation satire in a zippy game where players get to be a young dude trying to make it to the cubicle world through an endless series of backpedaling roller blade dodges. In the front lines is not only any character, but our main character, who is armed in a unique way with roller skates on both arms and legs, which he scrolls through the street at lightning speed. Connor “CDawgVA” Colhoun voices the game, and his voice will help you push through each obstacle while he hilariously tells stories about ascending the corporate ladder. While playing, you’ll hear snippets from The Grindset, a self-help podcast that’s full of motivational advice from popular streamers. These podcasts are collectibles adding some random flavor to the gameplay.
On top of the roller-skating chaos is a movement system dubbed Shmooovement that you can see at play in the pilot episode of Get To Work. This system makes it all go fast, and there’s a deep satisfaction to getting pulling aside some complex maneuvers. There’s an in-game timer for speedrunning, and if you just need to take a break, there’s a give up button for you to retreat at any point.
